Keefe Center
Provides emergency services to people in need through its food bank, shelter to families displaced by fire, or assistance to families facing heating emergencies during the cold winter months. The department also engages in a number of proactive activities designed to give residents the tools to succeed and improve themselves, including a very successful workforce training program, collaborative efforts with local arts groups to provide artistic programming, and providing scholarships to children unable to afford to attend local summer camps.

Yale Behavioral Health Services at Hamden
Behavioral Health Services at Hamden (BHSH) is part of Yale Behavioral Health and is housed within the Yale Department of Psychiatry. Serving residents in the Town of Hamden, Connecticut, BHSH is a licensed outpatient mental health and substance abuse clinic offering comprehensive treatment to individuals with mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Treatment provided at the clinic is person-centered, recovery oriented and characterized by respect, warmth and empathy. Staff work with clients to establish realistic, achievable goals consistent with their recovery. General services include intake and evaluation, crisis intervention, individual, group, family and couples treatment, psychiatric evaluations and medication evaluation and management. Specialized programming includes (1) co-occurring care provided within an integrated stage-based framework; (2) trauma-based treatment; and (3) psychosocial options focused on the development of life skills associated with recovery.
A reduced fee is available for those with limited ability to pay who reside in the town of Hamden.
