Keep up-to-date with your library account on your mobile phone using the library’s Shoutbomb text messaging service.
- Receive text notices about items available to pick up, items due soon, overdue items and fines.
- Send a text to request a renewal and receive a text back with the result of your request.
- Send a text to see your account’s expiration date.
- Set up multiple library accounts (barcodes) on the same phone.

ALSO You will continue to receive the email and/or postal notices from the LION system.
You can now receive email notices directly from our online catalog system. Sign up at the circulation desk at any of our branches, or go the My Account page of our online catalog and click “Modify Personal Information” to add or change your email address. You will receive pre-due, overdue, hold notification, and billing notices. If you are having problems receiving email message, try adding “firstname.lastname@example.org” to your email contacts or safe senders list.
The Hamden Library no longer subscribes to Library Elf. You may still receive Library Elf’s basic service for free, which covers single card with pre-dues and over dues notices only. You can cancel Library Elf email notices by deleting your account at libraryelf.com
