You can register for a library card in person or online.

In Person Cards

Visit any Hamden library with your photo ID showing your current Hamden address, or a Photo ID with another form of proof of address: e.g. a bill or other “official” mail, checkbook, insurance card or paystub. We’ll issue you a three year card.

Renewal

You can also renew your card in person for a 3-year expiration date.

Online Cards

You can receive a temporary card  online. Send an email to borrowerservice@hamdenlibrary.org, including the following:

Subject Line: New library card

Name
Address
Phone number
Email address

Please allow 24 hours for us to process your registration.  Staff will email you with your card number, and you will be able to use your account to access all our online resources. Your temporary account will be good for 3 months.

To receive a permanent card, you will need to visit the Hamden Library  to verify your name and address. At that time, you will receive a permanent library card with a three year expiration date.
