Families are nominated on behalf of recognized domestic agencies in the Hamden area for their own special reasons. Some families may be struggling to meet/acquire monthly expenses or common household items while others might be facing an extraordinarily challenging time.
By agreeing to adopt a family, you are making a commitment to provide the family you have chosen with enough gifts to give them a meaningful holiday experience. We do not set a minimum expectation as to what you can, or are willing to, provide for the family.
When buying for families with multiple children, please keep gifts equal. The Wish List families provide is meant as a gift buying guide.
Adopt a Family Participation Guidelines:
- Adopt a family kicks off Wednesday, November 12, 2025.
- All donations are due by Monday, December 15, 2025.
- Toys can be dropped off at the Keefe Community Center, 11 Pine Street in Hamden or you can call to make arrangements for AnneMarie Karavas to meet you. You are welcome to coordinate an earlier drop off. Gifts do not have to be wrapped but please label each gift clearly. If you are purchasing clothes, please include a gift receipt for size exchange.
- You are welcome to include a Holiday Card to wish the parents/guardian a happy holiday or you may remain anonymous.
