The Connecticut State Rail Plan is a federally-required planning document that establishes a vision for passenger and freight rail transportation throughout the state and identifies strategies, policies, and potential investments to support Connecticut’s rail network.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public and local community the opportunity to learn about the Connecticut State Rail Plan update and allow an open discussion of comments, questions, and feedback regarding the future of passenger and freight rail transportation in Connecticut.
Project team members will be available throughout the meeting to answer questions and discuss the plan’s update.
The updated Connecticut State Rail Plan is expected to be completed winter 2027.
The public can submit comments and questions during the two-week public comment period following the meeting.
Direct comments and questions by Tuesday, October 13, 2026, to bit.ly/CTRailPlan or 860-594-2020.
