Unlimited digital access to The New York Times with your Library card!

Your Hamden Library card provides free access to everything The New York Times has to offer online, including News, Games, Cooking, Wirecutter and The Athletic! 

Here’s how to get started exploring:

Access The New York Times While Visiting the Library:

1. Visit nytimes.com using any device. Ensure you are using the library’s WiFi connection (Hamden Guest).
2. Go to the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Click on “Log in” to create a free account or log-in to your existing account. 
3. You now have full access to all journalism on nytimes.com while logged in at the library.

*Reminder: please note that onsite IP-based access does not include the Mini, Tiles, Letter Boxed, or our games archives. These can still be enjoyed via your offsite code redemption solution (see below).

Access The New York Times From Anywhere:

Whether you are at the library or at home, you have unlimited access to the full world of the New York Times—including apps—from anywhere with 24-hour access codes!

1. Get your access code  for 24-hour access.
2. Your code will auto-populate. Click redeem.
3. Register for a free account or log in to your existing account.
4. After receiving confirmation that your access code is valid, you will have 24-hours of complimentary access to the full world of The New York Times, including News, Games, Cooking, Wirecutter and The Athletic and other features. 
5. Once your 24-hour access code expires, you can simply repeat the process from Step 1 to redeem another code.
