Monday, May 26, 2025 at 10AM from Hamden High School to Hamden Middle School
The Town of Hamden’s 86th Annual Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday, May 26, 2025 beginning at 10:00AM.
The parade route begins at Hamden High School, 2040 Dixwell Avenue, and continues north along Dixwell Avenue, concluding at the Hamden Middle School, 2623 Dixwell Avenue.
The annual parade serves as a tribute to the sacrifices of our veterans and a source of pride to our citizens.
Parade Participation:
Many local organizations register to march in the parade and we would be honored if members of our Armed Forces would join us. Remembrance Ceremony:
Monday, May 26, 2025 at 11AM inside the Hamden Middle School
The Remembrance Ceremony will begin at 11:00AM in the Veterans Memorial Auditorium located inside the Hamden Middle School, 2623 Dixwell Avenue.
The Remembrance Ceremony commemorates the true meaning of the day, remembering those who have lost their lives in service to their country. At this time, the Parade Grand Marshals will be honored. The ceremony will feature remarks from the Veterans Commission, Mayor Lauren Garrett, Town Clerk Karimah Mickens, and other guests. Wreaths will then be placed outside at the Veterans Monument. Please join us as we remember and honor all those who sacrificed so we could exercise and enjoy the many freedoms we have.
Parade Grand Marshals:
The Hamden Veterans Commission will select a veteran and a citizen who have exhibited ongoing dedication and support of veterans in our community to serve as Parade Grand Marshals, and an announcement will be made.

If you would like to participate in the parade and have questions about participation, you are encouraged to attend the Veterans Commission meeting on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. This meeting will take place in-person at 5:30PM in the Recreation Conference Room, located on the main floor of Government Center, 2750 Dixwell Avenue.
