Kanopy is an on-demand film streaming service available for free at Hamden Public Library. Hamden Library cardholders can borrow up to 6 titles per month. You have 3 days to watch each title as many times as you like.
Kanopy showcases more than 30,000 of the worlds best films, including award-winning documentaries, rare and hard-to-find titles, film festival favorites, indie and classic films, and world cinema with collections from Kino Lorber, Music Box Films, Samuel Goldwyn, The Orchard, The Great Courses, PBS and thousands of independent filmmakers.
The service also includes Kanopy Kids, a collection of titles for children of all ages devoted to encouraging social and emotional development, promoting respect for community diversity, and inspiring creativity.
Films can be streamed from any computer (PC/Mac with browser), television, mobile device, or platform by downloading the Kanopy app. Please keep in mind, this is a streaming-only service. It does not currently offer the ability to download for offline viewing.
