Memory Café at SCSU
SCSU’s Memory Café is now open for registration. The Memory Café will take place at the Recreation Therapy Clinic at 493 Fitch Street in New Haven, and run on Tuesdays from 2:30-4:00 PM, from February 3, 2026 though April 28, 2026.
The Memory Café is a welcoming drop-in social gathering, where, along with their family members and caregivers, people experiencing dementia or cognitive decline can engage in activities in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. Participants will be able to meet others who understand the challenges of dementia, while fostering a sense of belonging, reduce stigma, and an opportunity to form social connections and share valuable resources. They will have the opportunity to engage in activities that offer brain stimulation such as music, art, games, and reminiscence. Through this experience participants can share experiences and build a network of support for both the person with dementia and their care partners. Light refreshments such as coffee, tea, and snacks will be provided, and the Memory Café is free to join.
