Passport to Connecticut Libraries

Passport to CT Libraries is Back!

April 1st – 30th

Over one hundred seventy (171) Connecticut library locations are proud to participate this year in the Connecticut Library Association’s Passport to Connecticut Libraries Program. Beginning April 1st, stop by any of our 3 Hamden library branches and pick up your program passport, rules and a list of participating libraries. Then continue to celebrate National Library Week during the month of April by visiting as many of those libraries as you like (between April 1 and April 30), get your passport stamped and maybe even pick up some cool library swag! Each library has its own architecture, vibe, and collection to explore and browse! This program is open to adults and children, and the hope is that it encourages residents to explore the amazing diversity of Connecticut’s wonderful public libraries.

To begin, visit any of Hamden’s 3 branches (or any participating library) to pick up your Passport!

They will stamp it and give you a token gift to get you started. Then, take your Passport along as you visit other participating libraries. At each visit, show your Passport; the library will stamp your Passport and may give you another small gift.

Prizes!

This year the program is offering SIX chances to win a $200 Visa gift card! Random drawings will be held from all participants throughout the state in each of six categories: adults who visited the most libraries, children under 18 who visited the most libraries, adults who visited more than 25 libraries, children under 18 who visited more than 25 libraries, adult who visited more than five libraries, and child under 18 who visited more than five libraries. All valid program passports must be turned in by May 11th to be entered into the prize drawings.

For more details and a full list of participating libraries, ask your local librarian.

Your library card opens the world to you through physical books, audiobooks, music CDs, DVDs—as well as downloadable or streaming version of the same products.  Now let your library card open the doors of Connecticut libraries by participating in the Passport to Connecticut Libraries Program!

All Library buildings will be closed April 3-5 for the holiday weekend.
