Two astronomical events have appeared in some news articles recently. The Perseid meteor showers which occur from mid-July and continue through late August. The moon will be a crescent and set early so the night sky will be darker than normal, allowing for, weather permitting, one of the best displays.
The other, the moon wobble, is a shift in the moon’s orbit that happens every 18 years that alters the tides either by suppressing or intensifying them. This year’s wobble could cause unusual high tide flooding because of climate change.
