Chocolate Lady - Miller

Hamdenresident and chocolate expert Maria Brandriff (a.k.a. “The Chocolate Lady) will launch Hamden Public Library’s Cabin Fever Readers adult reading program with a truffle-making demonstration in the Social Hall of the Miller Complex at2901 Dixwell Avenue. 

Mrs. Brandriff started out as a self-taught chef and always had a strong interest in dessert and pastry making. This eventually evolved into a passion for chocolate making. In 2001, she completed a certificate of Gastronomy from theUniversityofNew Havenand in the winter of 2004, she took a private course in chocolate making with a professional chocolatier in the city of Arles in Provence, France. 

The program which is free and open to the public will include generous samples for attendees and will also give those who participate a chance to learn more about and register for the reading program.  Seating is limited and registration is required.  Call the library at 203-287-2680 to register.
