WHAT ARE CONTACTLESS SERVICES?
Library card holders may request and borrow all types of library materials in a way that ensures the safety of everyone. If you live in Hamden, you can request a card online.
THREE WAYS TO REQUEST ITEMS:
- Place a hold on the item in our catalog.
- Call one of our libraries. Ask the staff member to locate your item and to place a hold on it. Let the person know at which branch you will pick it up.
Miller, 2901 Dixwell Ave. 203-287-2680
Brundage/Community Branch, 91 Circular Ave. 203-287-2675
Whitneyville, 125 Carleton St. 203-287-2677
- Alternatively, you may email your hold request to info@hamdenlibrary.org.
If you don’t have a specific title in mind, call or email to request staff find items about a specific subject or a particular genre for you. Are you interested in cooking? Mysteries? History? Exercise? We’ll put together a bundle of your favorite topics for you.
HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN MY HOLD IS FILLED?
Our staff will retrieve the items and place it on hold for you. You will get an email when the hold has been filled. We will call you if you don’t have email. Please make sure we have your current email and phone number on record.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I GET TO THE LIBRARY?
When you arrive at your desired library location, please call us to let us know you are here. (Or call as you are leaving your home.) Please have your library card number handy. If you do not have the card we will ask you to verify your address. We will then check the items out to you.
