Community Outreach Officer

The Community Outreach Officer helps to serve all residents in the community, especially those experiencing economic hardship or difficult times, through an empathetic lens that recognizes people’s strengths and rights

Meet our Community Resource Officer, Kimberly Leak, LCSW
Kimberly is a Connecticut state licensed clinical social worker with a Master of Social Work. She helps Hamden Public Library patrons navigate housing and food assistance, public benefits, employment and reentry services, and mental health and other community resources. Kimberly offers free, one-on-one guidance and referrals to patrons ages 13 and up, including those facing financial hardship or other difficult circumstances. She listens to each person’s concerns, recognizes their strengths, and respects their right to decide what support is right for them.

As a mandated reporter in Connecticut, Kimberly is required by law to report suspected abuse or neglect involving children and adults covered by the state’s reporting laws.
