Open Call for Submissions

Open Call for Submissions – The PERCH’s SOCIAL Issue, Vol. 8

Studies highlight the vital role of social connections and support in mental, physical, and substance use recovery. The PERCH’s upcoming SOCIAL Issue (2025) explores what it means to be social today—how we connect, experience support, and navigate changing networks, loneliness, and virtual or in-person relationships.

Poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, artwork, video, music, and scholarly pieces exploring social support and its impact on wellness and recovery are welcome. Share personal stories of seeking, finding, or losing support, as well as unique perspectives on friendships, mentorships, community, peer support, and social media. We seek compelling, specific, and unexpected narratives and images.

Submissions due March 30, 2025, for Fall 2025
