Hamden Fireworks – June 30th

Hamden’s fireworks display is returning after a four-year hiatus, officials announced Wednesday.

“After a long hiatus, Mayor Lauren Garrett and Quinnipiac University are proud to bring back the annual fireworks celebration to Hamden Town Center Park on June 30th!” reads a post on the town’s Facebook page. “It’s time to gather with family and friends, pack your picnic baskets, and join us for a night filled with dazzling displays of color and excitement! Enjoy a special performance by Hamden Symphony Orchestra.

The show starts at 9:20 p.m. on Friday, June 30. The rain date is July 1.

The event is sponsored by Quinnipiac University. Garrett thanked Quinnipiac University and President Judy D. Olian for their “generous donation towards this celebration and fireworks display, and for their commitment to partner with the Hamden community,” according to a news release.

“We are delighted to sponsor the return of this long-standing joyous tradition, and we are proud of the strong community partnership that exists between the university and the Town of Hamden,” Olian said.

Hamden’s Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display is presented by the Department of Arts, Culture, Recreation and Wellness with fireworks by Pyrotecnico. The celebration and display are held in cooperation with the Hamden Parks Department, Hamden Public Works, CERT, Hamden Fire Department, Hamden Police Department, and the Mayor’s Office.
