On Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 1-2:30pm, the public will have an opportunity to experience an electric school bus at Miller Memorial Library. The Ride & Drive event is with Lion Electric, the leading all-electric school bus manufacturer in North America. Stop by and learn about the electrification of school transportation and a vision of our near future. Spokespersons for Lion Electric will be available.
Electrification of transportation is critical to solving the climate crisis. Transportation is the largest source sector of CO2 emissions in the state of Connecticut. Each electric school bus on the road eliminates 23 tons of greenhouse gas emissions each year. Electrifying our nation’s school bus fleet also reduces air pollution and particulate matter from diesel engines that can be extremely harmful to our children, bystanders and our school bus drivers.
