National Drive Electric Week Event at Miller Public Library
An in-person event will be hosted in the Miller Public Library parking lot on Saturday, September 25th, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Electric Vehicle(EV) owners will display their EVs and will discuss why they are enthusiastic about their all-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles and how they use them on their daily commutes, long-distance drives, as well as how they charge the cars’ batteries. Local car dealers will also be on hand to display their newest EV models.
Attendees will learn about the differences between electric vehicles and conventional gas-powered cars (including why EVs are much less expensive to operate and maintain), the widespread locations and different types of charging stations, the wide range of EV models available now and the much wider range of EVs to be released in the near future. The event will also highlight the benefits of electric vehicles for the environment and for public health.
The event is planned by The Energy Use and Climate Change Commission of the Town of Hamden
