The Library will be closing at 5:00PM on Wednesday, November 26th. We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, November 27th. We will be open our regular hours on Friday and Saturday.
During the month of November visitors to Hamden’s Miller Library are likely to encounter some disarray among the stacks and the relocation of various collections throughout the building, but, as Library Director Marian Amodeo says, “This disruption is a small price to pay for the much-needed expansion of our children’s area and the revitalization of the library as a whole.” Planning for the current renovation project began in 2013 when the Hamden Public Schools sought Alliance Grant funding from the state on behalf of the library to increase and enhance literacy materials and services for preschoolers and their families. $100,000 was eventually awarded for the project which, in the beginning, focused entirely on providing additional space, materials and activities for the library’s youngest users and their caregivers.
